Meet Dr. Travis Nash

Making a Difference, One Smile at a Time

I love being an orthodontist. It’s the perfect combination of science and art, and allows me to work with people of all ages, from all walks of life, every single day. We get to talk and laugh with each patient, and build relationships that go beyond practice and patient. Patients become our friends and part of our family.

We feel fortunate to serve a wonderful community. Our patients are kind, fun people who bring a lot of excitement and happiness to our practice. It’s rewarding to watch each person’s confidence grow, and their personality blossom, as they move through treatment. Seeing a person go from feeling ashamed of their teeth and uncomfortable around others to being someone who radiates confidence and happily engages with others is an incredible experience. I’m lucky, beause I see that transformation happen every day!

My Education and Pursuit of Continuing Education

My Doctorate of Dental Surgery was awarded by the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2000. I stayed on there for my orthodontics residency, which I finished in 2002. Before moving to South Carolina, I served our country as an orthodontics department head in the United States Navy, stationed in Norfolk, Virginia.

Each year I complete many hours of continuing orthodontic education, to stay current on the latest techniques and technology. This ensures my patients receive the best possible care and finish treatment with a lasting, functional, and attractive smile. I attend national and regional orthodontic conferences. I also take seminars and various training courses, to learn from the leading researchers and practitioners in the field.

Nash Orthodontics

My team and I believe if you have to visit a medical office regularly, it should be a welcoming, comfortable environment where you feel at home. We’ve created a practice that we’d want to visit: full of laughter and smiles! We always have a fun contest going on, great video games in our reception area, and oatmeal cream pies that are a definite highlight!

My team members genuinely care about our patients and their families. We want each to feel valued and important as people and we strive to be a bright spot in their day.

Beyond the Office

I grew up out west and moved to Mount Pleasant in 2006. My wife Allison and I have three incredible kids: Jansen, Jacob, and Isabelle. I love being a father and spend as much time with my family as I can.

I also enjoy the outdoors, especially when I’m hiking or fishing, and am an avid reader, too. Allison and I like going to Sullivan’s Island and love the beach! My most recent passion is Taekwondo and sparring: you’d better wear your rubber bands!
